If you're looking for Heidi Stone Photography, my business will be closing at the end of August 2012. Sessions are no longer being scheduled and this blog is now my personal blog.
Thank you all for such a wonderful four years in business! Perhaps we will meet again down the road. :)

Busy

It's not that I've been intentionally neglecting you, Internet. It's not even that I've been unintentionally neglecting you. I have just been insanely busy. I actually enjoy being busy, but my house is beginning to show the signs of neglect. I think there are three piles of laundry sitting in the loft waiting to be folded and probably two more piles that need to be washed. I'm beginning to wonder how there was ever a time that I only did laundry once a week. But I know that day existed. A lot of children ago.

I am so excited to see that fall is just around the corner. I absolutely love the cool crisp air of autumn. I think the reason I love it so much is that I'm a total jeans girl. That is, I would live in jeans if you let me. In fact, I do live in jeans. And it doesn't even matter if you let me or not. If I could wear the same thing every day, I'd wear a pair of blue jeans and a long-sleeved t-shirt. And I'd drink apple cider. Or hot chocolate. Or any other equally delectable hot drink. I'm actually starting to wonder if I was supposed to live in a climate that only experiences autumn. (Is there such a place? Please let me know.)

Homeschooling is going smashingly now that I've lowered the pressure on myself to do only 3-4 days per week rather than the official 5-day-a-week rule that I know will have to be enforced next year. I'm not entirely sure that this is for me, but I'm enjoying it for now and appreciating the ability I have to teach my kids in our own home. We've committed to this year and we've always said that we would take it one year at a time, so who knows? Perhaps I'll have completely changed my mind by the end of the school year.

In the meantime, we are coloring, reading, practicing, drawing, field tripping, learning, building, and enjoying each other.

I know it's absolutely appalling for me to not include a photo in a blog post, but I'm writing this from my laptop and all of my pictures taken within the last...ohhh.....several months are on my computer upstairs. And you know, I'm too tired for all that jazz. So please accept my apology. I promise that my next post will include a picture.

  1. Kudos to you for homeschooling! It is certainly something I'm considering for my child, even though we have a few more years to decide.

BTW I love your work! You're very talented.

  2. I agree with Shawntae..KUDOS!! I actually given this subject a lot of though myself (home-school)But I doubt if I will be able to stick to it. I guess I can say I home school to a certain extent. I teach and have taught my step son his abc's and how to write before going to school. (Do that even count LoL) Well either way I firmly believe that learning starts at home and not in the class room.

    Have a great day
