The Venus Transit

I apparently don't watch the news often enough because I didn't even know this fancy event was going on until late in the afternoon yesterday and I found out in no way other than....The Great Facebook. Which is, of course, the ultimate source of all knowledge.

So anyway, when I got home from work last night, I thought I'd check it out. My husband made me wear these goofy welding glasses to look at it, which didn't do a thing for me. I have a picture of me wearing them, but it's resting safely on my hard drive right now and probably will stay there for all eternity.

Since I shoot portraits - not weddings - and since I love primes, I don't own any zoom lenses. So this was taken with my fabulous fifty right as the sun was setting over the horizon.



Um....yeah. Not very impressive.
Don't hire me to take pictures of the sun for you. DO hire me to take portraits of your children! :)
